Additional Childbirth Classes offered by Jan Mallak

VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean) is another type of class I teach – usually on a private basis. It includes hints on how to improve your chances of a vaginal experience by approaching things differently than last time both before and during the birth.

A Previous Traumatic Birth class is the last type of childbirth class I offer also on a private basis. It is intended for those who feel their last birth was not what they had envisioned or had an unexpected outcome. It includes healing activities as well as new preparation for a happier birth.

I also offer Private and Semi-private lessons for those who cannot attend weekly classes. They are crash courses that cover most of the topics listed above and/or specific information of interest to you. They are usually $50/hr with a 3 hr minimum. A fourth hour can be added to cover Breastfeeding Basics.

ALL OF THESE CLASSES ARE PARTIALLY REIMBURSED BY MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES (ask for a “Lamaze reimbursement” form)

Breastfeeding Class for New Moms by Teresa Bailey, CD, IBCLC

Now, before your baby is born, is when you need to learn about breastfeeding. You’ll need this information and these skills the moment your baby comes into the world. In Teresa’s breastfeeding class, you’ll learn the answers no one else tells you to the questions every new mother has:

What are the real benefits of breastfeeding?
How often should I be feeding?
How will I know if my baby’s getting enough?
How much weight should my baby be gaining?
What can I do if it doesn’t seem to be working?
Where do I go locally when I need breastfeeding help?

This class is open to small couples’ groups or individual couples. E-mail for scheduling: teresadoula@verizon.net

* This 3 hour class also meets certification requirements for various Doula organizations.
